Overview

We will show how to add text in your header by using Paint.
Paint is included in your Microsoft Windows, it is an easy image editing program, so you will not be in need to buy expensive programs such as PhotoShop or Fireworks.
You may use Gimp (Free Open Source), but it is more complicated than Paint.

In this tutorial, we will show you how you can use Paint to add your own text and slogan in your header image:

  1. Open Paint

  2. Open the header to edit in Paint:

  1. Click the Paint button , and then click Open.
  2. Find the header you want to open in Paint, click it, and then click Open.

Note: Many of the tools you use in Paint are found in the Ribbon, which is near the top of the Paint window. The following illustration shows the Ribbon and other parts of Paint.

  1. Use the Text tool to enter text in your header.

  1. On the Home tab, in the Tools group, click the Text tool .
  2. Drag the pointer in the drawing area where you want to add text.
  3. Under Text Tools, on the Text tab, click the font face, size, and style in the Font group.
  4. In the Colors group, click Color 1, and then click the color which you want for the text.
  5. Type the text that you want to add.
  6. If you want the background of the text area to be filled, in the Background group, click Opaque. In the Colors group, click Color 2, and then click a background color for the text area.
  7. If you want to change the appearance of some of the text in the text box, select the text you want to change, and then choose a new font face, size, style, or color for the selected text.

Note: When editing in Paint you should be careful, if you do a mistake, you can use the undo button or redo button , but you have to redo or undo for only one step.

  1. Saving and using your header

When editing in Paint, you should save your work frequently so you don't accidentally lose it. Please also note that you have only one time Redo or Undo during each step.

  1. Click the Paint button , and then click Save.
  2. In the Save as type box, select the file format you want (JPEG, GIF, PNG, BMP or other format).
  3. In the File name box, type a name, and then click Save.

Finally, add the header to your web page, and upload your page to your server.
